Meet & Greet
Last updated: 2026-10-09
Meet & Greet at Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport provides a dedicated agent to welcome and guide the booked passenger through relevant airport steps. Departure support can include orientation at check-in and guidance toward the boarding gate. Fast Track priority, lounge entry, porterage and transfers are not automatically included.
What happens on departure?
Contact the team around ten minutes before reaching the airport. The designated agent welcomes you at the agreed entrance or meeting point, displays your name on a tablet or sign, assists with check-in and accompanies you through the booked stages, potentially up to the boarding gate.
For a departure reservation, the personal welcome begins before the passenger walks into the formal controls. The traveler contacts the coordinating team roughly ten minutes before reaching the airport, as instructed for that confirmed service. This contact lets the agent prepare the appropriate meeting rather than leaving the passenger to search independently for an unfamiliar counter. The agent identifies the traveler with a name displayed on a tablet or sign. That name-based welcome is a central distinction from buying queue priority alone. The booking details and actual departure direction must be correct: an arrival booking cannot simply be treated as a departure booking.
After the welcome, the airline's check-in requirements still apply. The agent can explain the sequence, guide the passenger to the relevant step and help them understand where to go after documents or luggage have been dealt with. Where the booked service includes accompaniment through the onward procedures, the agent stays with the passenger through the specified stages. At the applicable A-Gate or E-Gate, the boarding pass is scanned; this does not perform the subsequent security or border checks. Depending on flight type, the onward sequence can involve a scanner/security check and passport control. Every official decision belongs to the airport or border authority.
The passenger should keep the passport, flight details, boarding pass and any necessary documents accessible. An agent's presence is not a substitute for being prepared. Travelers with checked baggage must respect airline check-in and baggage acceptance deadlines, irrespective of whether Meet & Greet assistance is booked. The practical benefit is being able to ask a knowledgeable human guide what comes next while moving through an airport with distinct domestic and international processes. The agent can accompany the passenger toward the boarding gate within the confirmed service scope, but cannot guarantee boarding, change flight closing times or waive any airline requirement.
How are arrivals handled?
The agent waits at the applicable reception point with the passenger’s name displayed, assists through covered procedures and accompanies the passenger to the booked end point or airport exit. International arrival starts with the airline journey and official arrival formalities, not with a promise of immediate exit.
For a confirmed Meet & Greet arrival, the dedicated representative identifies and welcomes the traveler at the applicable reception point according to that booking. The passenger should follow official signs and staff directions to that point rather than assuming the agent can enter every controlled space. Any passport, customs or security examination that applies remains compulsory. The agent helps the traveler understand the next steps and accompanies them toward the agreed end of service, typically the airport exit.
This continuity is useful when someone is arriving in Tangier for the first time and has several practical questions at once. After completing official formalities, they may want an ATM, an exchange bureau, a local SIM or the taxi booking office. The representative can orient them toward the facilities observed at the airport, including banking points, Inwi or Orange counters and the public arrival area. Those facilities remain operated by their respective providers. Meet & Greet is not an exchange, telecom, taxi or banking transaction and does not guarantee that a particular provider is operating when the passenger reaches it.
If the traveler has independently reserved a chauffeur or private transfer, an agent may help coordinate where to proceed according to the separately confirmed arrangement. That should never be mistaken for a private car automatically included in the airport welcome. Families can benefit from having one clear person explaining the next movement; seniors may appreciate guidance through the transition from controlled spaces to the public hall. Neither case means the representative replaces official reduced-mobility assistance, which must be arranged through the airline and airport channels where needed.
How is this different from Fast Track?
Meet & Greet provides a dedicated agent, personal welcome and continuous practical guidance. Fast Track alone refers to priority ahead of the normal queue at covered stages. Fast Track and Meet & Greet solve related but different travel problems.
Standalone Fast Track is about priority ahead of the ordinary passenger queue at specifically applicable and confirmed stages. It does not necessarily give the passenger a continuously accompanying representative, and on departure the traveler must first complete airline check-in. Meet & Greet is the human service: a dedicated agent gives a named welcome, guides the traveler and accompanies them through the booked scope. Priority can only be claimed where the particular Meet & Greet arrangement explicitly includes it; the words “Meet & Greet” alone do not turn every queue into a priority queue.
Imagine two travelers arriving on different flights. The first knows Tangier Airport and mainly wants priority at the covered passport-control stage. The second is unfamiliar with the airport, has to find a SIM provider and later meet a separately booked driver. The first may prefer the narrowly defined Fast Track option; the second may value personalized orientation. A business traveler may appreciate a named meeting arrangement because it reduces uncertainty about the sequence, while someone traveling with relatives may value having the next step explained to the whole group. These are reasons to compare, not guarantees about time saved.
The airport's electronic boarding-pass gate must not be confused with a private immigration lane. A-Gate/E-Gate access, security screening, passport control and customs are different official steps. An agent can guide a traveler toward them and, where confirmed, help access applicable priority processing, but the authorities still perform the checks. The owner’s field experience has sometimes shown short processing windows around five to fifteen minutes in certain Meet & Greet configurations; that is an observation, not a service-wide official standard or a promised completion time.
Is the lounge or porter included?
Not automatically. VIP Lounge, porter support, baggage handling and transfer must be confirmed separately. Indicative processing of 5–15 minutes applies only in certain conditions and is never guaranteed. The price of a personalized welcome should be read against the exact product reserved.
Meet & Greet by itself does not automatically provide a porter, checked-baggage handling, airline baggage priority, a private transfer or entrance to the VIP Lounge. Tangier Airport's Aspire lounge is a separate product with a strictly limited three-hour access period. Travelers who want both accompaniment and the lounge can select the separately priced Meet & Greet + VIP Lounge bundle. Standalone Fast Track is also a separate service, and priority stages should not be assumed to transfer between products.
This separation matters at booking time. If a passenger needs help moving suitcases, they should ask what baggage or porter assistance can actually be arranged instead of relying on vague promises of “VIP help.” If someone has mobility limitations and needs a wheelchair or officially recognized PRM assistance, the airline/airport assistance process is the appropriate channel; a private greeting agent cannot replace it. If a family wants to sit in the lounge, verify every eligible person on the lounge booking rather than assuming the Meet & Greet reservation admits the whole party.
For Tangier, the approved Meet & Greet baseline is 800 MAD per adult and 400 MAD for children aged two to twelve, with infants aged zero to two free, subject to any locked price displayed on the actual page. The price displayed on the website is the final price, with taxes included. An urgent request less than twenty-four hours before the service is subject to confirmation and the approved booking surcharge rule; sending a request is not the same as receiving an accepted booking. Verify the selected direction, flight details and final displayed price before payment.
How do the departure and arrival meeting processes differ?
On departure, the customer is asked to call the team roughly ten minutes before reaching Tangier Airport, allowing coordination at the agreed airport entrance or applicable meeting point. The dedicated agent can then help with airline check-in and accompany the passenger through the booked procedures, potentially as far as the boarding gate.
On an international arrival, the agent welcomes the passenger at the designated reception point with the passenger name displayed on a tablet or sign, then assists along the applicable route towards the exit. Meeting locations and the exact endpoint must be confirmed for that booking; never assume every route is identical. The departure contact roughly ten minutes before arriving at the airport is a coordination step, not the recommended airport arrival time. Travelers must still plan to reach the terminal with sufficient margin for their airline's rules, luggage and controls. The personal representative can then meet at the agreed departure point, identify the passenger by name and provide guidance from the beginning of the booked accompaniment. On arrival, the aircraft lands first, the traveler follows the designated official route and the representative receives them at the applicable arranged point.
